Makita HP331DWAE 10.8v Combi Drill Review

The HP331D from Makita is a new model with a 10.8v battery, this means it has more power from the motor with increased speed and higher torque for maximum tightening.

Makita remains to be one of the leading manufacturers of professional power tools in the market, and this is a direct replacement of their previous HP330 model, which was developed by adding a hammer mechanism to drill driver DF330D, with a higher speed and impact rate.  When it is from Makita, it is from solid and tested heritage, and this one comes with a slide on Compact Extreme Technology batteries. It has increased motor power for higher application speed and max tightening torque. Its rubberised handle is designed for best grip and maximum thrust to the bit, with your comfort on top. An LED spotlight with utilitarian pre and afterglow functions prove handy for working in dark conditions.

Features and Benefits

With Slide Type Li-ion batteries, it is now easier to remove and reinsert batteries than before. Being a keyless chuck, you no longer require a special key to change out the drill bit, which makes this tool even more convenient. Additionally, you get to enjoy the essential electric brake feature that brings the rotation to a rapid stop immediately you release the trigger.  An LED job light makes the tool useful when working in an area with poor lighting, so you no longer have to bring a lamp with you. The Ergonomic soft grip keeps you comfortable at work while keeping the tool balanced in hand and gives you total power control. The 2speed mechanical gears give you force and speed advantage, and hence the tool has higher speed and impact rate than HP330D, its predecessor. A battery protection circuit will guard your battery from overcharge, over discharge, short circuit, over current reverse charge and overheat protection, so you can rest assured that your tool is as safe.  The genuine belt clip made from steel is attached to the tool’s handle so that you can hook it up when not in use. Finally, you get to vary rotation speed according to your preference, thanks to the intelligent trigger.

Variable speed control by a trigger.
